Foot Blocks Foot Blocks or Turning Blocks are essentially heavy-duty Cheekblocks designed to attach to the Deck, and handle the huge loads associated with Genoa and Spinnaker Sheets and Guys. Usually mounted on the aft quarters, they turn the sheet 180°, taking twice the load of the sheet itself. Often available in single and double versions, and sometimes with an integral (or separate) angle pad to better align with the winch. Occasionally they have been made available with integral (or optional) Cams (line stoppers, or jammers).
