T-Ball Backing Plate Tangs for Round Holes


Internally mounted Backing Plate Tangs are easy to install, requiring only a round hole (not a slot) in the Mast. (Note: The 1 OS Backing Plate that mounts in a Slot is listed below with all the other OS Backing Plates.) Backing Plates are designed to fit through mounting hole and are then riveted from the outside.

Gibb 840 'Rounded' T-Ball Backing Plates
Stainless Steel Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball Backing Plates for use only with Gibb & Norseman 'Rounded' T-Ball (Lollipop) Shroud fittings. Used for Larger shrouds (7/32", 6mm and up), these fittings are stronger and provide greater articulation than the standard Gibb T-Ball. Rubber Retaining Plugs Gib 842, below, are available to keep 'Rounded' T-Balls from moving when not under load. See also: (Standard) Gib 740 T-Ball Backing Plate Tangs.

840 Backing Plate for 7/32", 1/4" & 6mm wire: Gib 840-M06:

SS T-Ball Backing Plate Tang for 7/32" and 1/4" (or 6mm) wire using Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball swage fittings, Gib 841. Mounting requires a 1 3/16" hole in the Mast, unit is attached using (3) 3/16" (5mm) rivets. Formed Plate is 3 3/4" long x 1 3/16" wide, and is contoured for use with most Mast Sections.

SS T-Ball Backing Plate Tang for 9/32" and 5/16" (or 7mm & 8mm) wire using Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball fittings, Gib 841. Mounting requires a 1 1/2" hole in the Mast, unit is attached using (3) 1/4" (6mm) rivets. Formed Plate is 4 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide, and is contoured for use with most Mast Sections.

Heavy Cast SS T-Ball Backing Plate Tang for 5/16" (or 8mm) wire using Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball fittings, Gib 841. Mounting requires a 1 5/8" hole in the Mast, unit is attached using (3) 1/4" (6mm) rivets. Plate is 4 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide, and is contoured for use with most Mast Sections.

Heavy Cast SS T-Ball Backing Plate Tang for 7/16" & 1/2" (or 11mm & 12mm) wire using Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball fittings, Gib 841. Mounting requires a 2" hole in the Mast, unit is attached using (5) 1/4" (6mm) rivets. Plate is 7" long x 2" wide, and is contoured for use with most Mast Sections.

Rubber Retaining Plugs for Gibb 840 'Rounded' T-Balls
Rubber Retaining Plugs for use with Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball Shroud fittings. Rubber plugs keep 'Rounded' T-Balls from moving and disengaging when not under load. For replacement Plugs, measure wire size or take number from existing Plug.
 
Rubber Plug for 'Rounded' T-Ball, 7/32", 1/4", & 6mm wire: Gib 842-M06:
Rubber Retaining Plug for use with Gibb 'Rounded' T-Ball Backing Plate, Gib 840-M06, for 7/32", 1/4", and 6mm wire. Rubber Plug is 3/4" (19mm) long x 1/2" (12mm) wide. Plug is marked with the number 6, which is visible when installed.

SS T-Ball Backing Plate Tang for 3 & 4mm, 1/8" & 5/32" wire using OS T-ball swage fittings. Mounts internally in 20.4mm (13/16") hole in mast using (3) 3/16" (5mm) rivets. Plate is 80mm (3 1/8") long x 20.4mm (13/16") wide, and is contoured for use with most Mast Sections. Slot in Plate is 5/8" long x 5/16" wide (16x8.5mm). New-style SS T-Ball Backing Plate Tang for 7mm / 9/32" wire and -10 Rod using OS T-ball swage or Rod fittings. Mounts internally in 40mm (1 5/8") hole in mast using (4) 1/4" (6mm) rivets.
