| Sheave Axle Pins Sheaves ride on Axle Pins. Axle Pins in most Masts, Booms and many Exit Blocks are removable for ease of Sheave replacement. SS Sheave Axle Pins with Tab are listed below, but Clevis Pins and Rigging Pins are also commonly used as Sheave Axles. Rigging Pins and plain Straight Pins require use of removable Cover Plates, below, to keep them in place. In addition, many Masts and Booms have proprietary fittings that use specialized Sheave Axles. These are listed by manufacturer under the particular fitting they are used in, See Spars. |

Sheave Axle Pins with Tab A variety of SS Sheave Axle Pins with Tabs are used in masts with welded-in mastheads and sheave boxes. Pins are welded to SS Tabs, which are screwed to the mast and allow for easy removal. Most Kenyon Sheave Axle Pins have a thin stem where they are welded to the tab, which allows the tab to be bent to fit the mast contour where it attaches to mast. Most others are welded at a fixed angle. Listed below are standard sizes, but others are available. |

| 1/4" Sheave Axle Pins Kenyon 1/4" Sheave Axle Pins are welded to a round tab which attaches to mast with (2) #10 (3/16") screws. Round tab is 1 1/8" diameter with 2 holes on 3/4" centers. |

3/8" Sheave Axle Pins Kenyon 3/8" Sheave Axle Pins have a thin bendable stem where they are welded to the tab, which allows the tab to be bent to fit the mast contour where it attaches to mast. Axles are welded to a Teardrop shaped tab, which attaches to mast with (1) #10 (3/16") screw. Teardrop Tab is 2 1/8" overall x 1 1/4" wide. Screw hole is 1 1/4" from axle center. SS Sheave Axle Pin is welded at 15 degrees to thin tab which attaches to mast with (1) #10 (3/16") screw. Axle Pin is 3/8" diameter, full diameter shaft is (maximum) 5" long, and commonly cut to shorter lengths. Tab is 1 1/4" long x 1/2" wide, screw hole is 3/4" from Pin center. Thin Tab is often bent to larger angles to fit a variety of Mast Sections. Used in a variety of Hall Spar Masts and other assemblies.

Straight Sheave Axle Pins Straight Sheave Axle Pins are used with welded-in mastheads, and welded-in Jib and Sheave Boxes where Axle Pin length might vary. Used in all Diameters and a variety of Lengths, any size is available if standard Rigging Pins will not do. Usually inserted from one side, the entry hole is covered by a Sheave Axle Cover Plate. In proper installation, there is a small hole opposite the Cover Plate, allowing the Axle Pin to be easily knocked out. For Custom Pins, specify diameter and maximum length. |

Sheave Axle Cover Plates A variety of SS Sheave Axle Cover Plates are used on Spars with welded-in mastheads and with sheave boxes to keep a Sheave Axle Pin, usually a Rigging Pin or other plain Straight Pin in place. It is common for there to be a small hole opposite the Cover Plate, allowing the Axle Pin to be knocked out. Cover Plates are usually attached to the Mast or Boom with (2) screws allowing for easy removal. A variety of the most common ones are listed here. |

SS Axle Pin Cover Plate, 1 1/8" Round: K-9259:
SS Sheave Axle Pin Cover Plate is 1 1/8" Round with (2) 3/16" (5mm) holes on 3/4" centers. Plate is slightly curved to fit most Mast and Boom sections, and is also used as the welded Tab for Kenyon 1/4" Sheave Axle Pins with Tab. As used on a variety of Kenyon, Isomat and Sparcraft Spars for Masthead and Jib Box Axle Pins.

SS Sheave Axle Pin Cover Plate is 1 3/4" long x 7/8" wide (44x22mm) with (2) 3/16" (5mm) holes on 30mm (1 3/16") centers with a 1/4" center hole. Formed Diamond shaped Tab allows use with Pins that protrude slightly from the Mast surface. As used on a variety of Isomat and Sparcraft Spars for Masthead and Jib Box Axle Pins.

SS Sheave Axle Pin Cover Plate is 2 3/8" long x 1 7/16" wide (60x36mm) with (2) 3/16" (5mm) holes on 45mm (1 3/4") centers. Formed Diamond shaped Tab allows use with Pins that protrude slightly from the Mast surface. As used on a variety of Isomat and Sparcraft Spars for Masthead and Jib Box Axle Pins. |
