Spinnaker Halyard, or Swivel Blocks are attached to a Spinnaker Bail, or other attachment point,
and used to hoist the Spinnaker Halyard or for any variety of usages requiring a Swivel.
A Spinnaker Bail or Crane, on Masthead Rigs, is usually attached to, and projects forward of the
Masthead (above the Headstay) allowing the Spinnaker to be tacked in front of the Headstay.
These Blocks are also used for Pole Lifts, Topping Lifts and for Spinnaker Halyards on Fractional Rigs.
Swivel Blocks used in this application should be oversized as the Spinnaker Halyard is subjected to some of the highest loads on board. Although most heavy-duty swivel blocks will work, we offer here a selection of blocks, chosen for their ruggedness and longevity. If your Masthead is not equipped with a Spinnaker Bail or Crane, we offer a variety of them designed to fit most Mastheads, See Masthead Spinnaker Bails & Cranes. Note: Some of the Blocks listed here feature Universal Heads allowing for use also as a fixed Front or Side Shackle Block. Although more universally recognized as Swivel Blocks, coming from Spar world, we have grown to refer to them generally as Spinnaker Halyard Blocks. Universal Head can be converted from Front/Side Shackle to Swivel by removing SS limiter plate.

Schaefer M66 series block has molded fiber Cheeks and a 10 sided 2 1/2" Aluminum Sheave with Delrin
Ball Bearings for line up to 1/2" diameter. Ratchet with Ball Bearings allows for easy single-handed
hoisting for Spinnakers on most boats up to 25 feet LOA, or for raising your Flag in a strong wind!
Ratchet on/off switch is located on both sides of the block for easy operation.
Lightweight Block has a 750 lb. Breaking Load.
Center hole design allows for use as spliced or tied Becket, Universal Head may be locked in place
or allowed to swivel.
