Kenyon SP4 Airfoil Spreader Section


SP4 Airfoil Spreader Section & Hardware Kenyon SP4 Spreader Section features a special Internal mounting channel designed to fit a 3 1/4" wide x 3/16" thick SS Plate. SP4 Spreaders commonly fit on a series of Spreader Bases with this size plate welded to them, and over Spreader Bars this size. This arrangement produces a strong, serviceable attachment with a minimum of windage.

*SP4 Tapered Spreader Ass'y w/ Integral Link Plate: K-SP4TAL-__:* Tapered SP4 Spreader uses an integral welded Link Plate, K-11561-1, for discontinuous rigging applications. Weld-in Link Plate has SS Bushings with (1) 5/8" hole (lower), (1) 1/2" hole (upper) and (1) 3/8" hole (intermediate). *SP4 Discontinuous Spreader Tip w/ 1/2" Pin: K-11446A:* Cast aluminum Spreader Tip features 1/2" horizontal pin for attaching rigging ends, and is designed to be welded to SP4 Spreader. Spreader Tip measures 3 3/4" x 1 1/2", and extends 2" beyond spreader tube. Pin center is 1 1/4" beyond spreader tube. 1/2" Pin, K-11446P, is included. Tip has uncoated Aluminum finish for use in welded applications. As used on Hunter 34.

Tip has uncoated Aluminum finish for use in welded applications, measures 2 3/4" x 1", and extends shroud seat 1/2" beyond spreader tube.

Unit features narrow slot with 3/8" horizontal pin for attaching link tangs. Spreader Tip measures 1 5/8" wide x 1 1/8" high with 1/2" wide slot, and extends 2" beyond spreader tube. *Tapered Discontinuous Spreader Tip w/ 7/16" Pin: K-11446L-7A:* Cast aluminum Spreader Tip is used on a variety of spreaders tapered to 2". Unit features wide slot (1 1/8" x 1 1/8" deep to Pin center) with horizontal pin for attaching Rod fork and link tangs. Spreader Tip is 2" wide x 1 3/8" high and extends 2 1/4" beyond spreader tube. Pin center is 1 1/2" beyond spreader tube, 7/16" Pin, K-CP7-64, is included. Tip has uncoated Aluminum finish for use in welded applications. Also available with other Pin sizes, Specify diameter. *SP4 Discontinuous Spreader Tip Link Plate: K-11561-1:* Aluminum weld-in Link Plate used with SP4 Spreaders (usually tapered) in discontinuous rigging applications. Link Plate has SS Bushings with (1) 5/8" hole (lower), (1) 1/2" hole (upper) and (1) 3/8" hole (intermediate), other pin sizes are available, please specify. Plate is (maximum) 1/2" thick x 5 3/4" high x 3 1/4" wide. As used on Tartan 34 Mk.2, and others.

*SP4 Inboard Spreader End - 0 degree aft: K-11480-4:* Inboard Spreader End is used for masts with welded aluminum spreader bases on rigs with in-line spreaders. Aluminum spreader end is welded in a slot cut in SP4 Spreader. Tapered Aluminum plate is 3/8" thick x (maximum) 5" wide x 6 1/4" long, and features integral etch lines to line up with centerline and end of SP4 Spreader. Mounts to mast with (2) 3/8" holes on 3 1/2" centers, holes are 3/4" from end of plate. Plate has uncoated Aluminum finish.
*SP4 Inboard Spreader End - 10° aft: K-11191:* Inboard Spreader End is used with welded spreaders bases for rigs with spreaders angled 10 degrees aft. Aluminum spreader end is welded in a slot cut in SP4 Spreader. Contoured Aluminum plate is 3/8" thick x (maximum) 5" wide x 6 1/4" long. Mounts to mast with (2) 3/8" holes on 3 1/2" centers. Plate has uncoated Aluminum finish. As used on Pearson 530K Mizzen.
*SP4 Inboard Spreader End - 30° aft: K-11663M:* Inboard Spreader End is used with special welded spreaders bases for rigs with spreaders angled 30 degrees aft. Aluminum spreader end is welded in a slot cut in SP4 Spreader. Contoured Aluminum plate is 3/8" thick x 4 1/4" wide x (maximum) 6 7/8" long. Mounts to mast with (2) 3/8" offset holes on 2 5/16" centers. Plate has uncoated Aluminum finish. As used on Hunter 34, the K-11663M is used with both the 5072 and 4873 Mast sections.
*SP4 Inboard Spreader End - 30° aft: K-11663ML:* Inboard Spreader End is as K-11663M, above, but with 3/8" offset holes on 3" centers. Plate has uncoated Aluminum finish. As used on Hunter 45, the K-11663ML is used with both the 5280 and 6092 Mast sections.


SP4 Spreader Bases SP4 Spreaders are normally used with a variety of welded SS Spreader Bases which are formed to fit specific Mast Sections. On some masts they are used with special welded Inboard Spreader Ends (listed above) that fit between (2) aluminum Spreader Base Plates welded to the mast. Spreader Bases and Spreader Base Plates used with SP4 Spreaders are specific to individual Mast Sections and are listed under the Mast Sections that they attach to, See Kenyon Mast Sections.

SP4 Spreader Bars SP4 Spreaders frequently use a thru-mast Spreader Bar, especially in High Performance applications. Spreader Bars are machined to snugly fit the interior of the Spreader, and require that the inboard end of the Spreader be cut or filed to approximate the curve of the mast section. Spreader Bar is installed through a slot in the mast, the Spreaders fit over the Bar and are pinned straight through the Bar, holding the Bar and Spreaders in place. Spreader Bars are available in a variety of standard sweep-back angles, other angles are available on a special order basis. *SP4 Spreader Bars are listed below, and* under the Mast Sections they are commonly used with (Kenyon 4066 & larger Sections), and are also suitable for use with other similar-sized Mast Sections.**
Spreader Bar for SP4 Spreader - 0 degree aft: K-11521: Stainless Steel Bar assembly is used with Kenyon SP4 Spreaders for rigs with in-line spreaders. Installed through a slot in the mast, the bar is held in place with roll pins (included) on each side. Holes (5/16") for spreader attachment and roll pins (1/8") are pre-drilled. Unit is 12 1/4" long x 3 3/16" wide, and has a 5-degree vertical angle. Fits 4066, 4270, and 4477 Sections.
Spreader Bar for SP4 Spreader - 5° aft: K-11504: Stainless Steel Bar assembly is used with Kenyon SP4 Spreaders for rigs with 5 degree swept-back spreaders. Installed through a slot in the mast, the bar is held in place with roll pins (included) on each side. Holes (5/16") for spreader attachment and roll pins (1/8") are pre-drilled. Unit is 12 1/4" long x 3 3/16" wide, and has a 5-degree vertical angle. Fits Kenyon 4270 Section. As used on J/35.
Long Spreader Bar for SP4 Spreader - 0° aft: K-11521L: Stainless Steel Bar assembly is used with Kenyon SP4 Spreaders for rigs with in-line spreaders. Installed through a slot in the mast, the bar is held in place with roll pins (included) on each side. Holes (5/16") for spreader attachment and roll pins (1/8") are pre-drilled. Unit is 13 1/4" long x 3 3/16" wide, and has a 5-degree vertical angle. Fits 4780, 4984, and 5591 Sections.
Aluminum Spreader Bar for SP4 Spreader - Special: K-11701: Special Extruded Aluminum Bar is used with Kenyon SP4 Spreaders for rigs with swept-back spreaders of various angles. Holes (3/8") for spreader attachment are pre-drilled. Unit is 13 5/8" long x 1 15/16" wide x 1/2" thick, and has a 5-degree vertical angle. Fits 4780 and 4984 Sections. As used on J/40.
