Genoa Cars

These Genoa Cars (Genoa Slides, Jib Cars, Genoa Lead Blocks) are designed to fit on a variety of different Tracks, and are held in position on the track either by a spring or screw pin, or by means of a line control system. Racing boats, will often use a line control system, for ease of use and precise adjustment.

Genoa Cars are of two primary varieties: Loop Cars (with Bail) for attachment of blocks or lines, and Genoa Lead Blocks (Cars with an integral Sheave).

SS Genoa Lead Block has Stainless Steel Block on stand-up spring. Unit locks in place on T-Track with a Spring Pin stop and features plastic liners to reduce sliding friction. Formed SS Slide is 4" long x 1 11/16" wide, SS Block has a 2 3/8" delrin sheave for line up to 1/2" diameter. Unit has a Safe Working Load of 2250 lbs (1020 kg), and is suitable for use on most boats up to 33' (10M) LOA.

Normally used with a purchase to bring it forward (under load) and a bungee cord aft to keep it taut. Slide (with bails) is (maximum) 6 1/2" long x 1 11/16" wide. This item is no longer available, having been replaced by Sch 17-68. In production, this item used two different Plastic Liners, Sch 172LP-T5, and Sch 172LP-5X, detailed below.

Cast SS Twin-Sheet Lead Block for 1 1/2" x 1/4" T-Track has " wide Aluminum sheave on Nomex/Teflon Bearing for low-friction and high-strength. Cast SS Slide is (maximum) 6 3/4" long x 1 15/16" wide and locks in place on T-Track with a SS Screw Pin stop. Unit has a Safe Working Load of 10,000 lbs. (4545 kg), and is suitable for use with (2) lines up to 7/8" diameter on most boats up to 50' (15M) LOA.
