Sparcraft FM-101 Mast

FM-101 Fractional Masthead Ass'y: FM101-1FA: Fractional Rig Masthead is standard on most FM-101 Masts. Cast aluminum Masthead includes provisions for Backstay and (2) upper shrouds using Stemball fittings, upper shrouds are internal and exit through slots near the top of the Mast Section. Assembly includes a single Main halyard Sheave, FM0-3, on an 8mm 'Drop-in' Sheave Axle, FM0-6.
	FM0 Masthead Sheave: FM0-3: Black Delrin Sheave is 40mm (1 9/16") OD x 10mm (3/8") wide x 8mm (5/16") ID. Used in FM101-1FA Masthead Assembly. SM40R10-8
	FM0 Masthead Sheave Axle: FM0-6: SS 'Drop-in' Sheave Axle pin is 8mm (5/16") dia. x 18mm (<3/4") long. Used for Sheave Axle in FM101-1FA Masthead Assembly.

NG1 Fractional Masthead Ass'y - Complete: NG1-1FAC: The NG1 Fractional Rig Masthead Assembly is a single casting, NG1-1FB, welded to the Mast Section which allows for 2 Main halyards (or 1 Halyard and a topping lift) using a single 'Drop-in' Sheave Axle, NG1-6, and (2) 60mm Sheaves, NG1-4. Masthead Cover Plate, NG1-1F, keeps Sheaves and Axle in place. Masthead includes provisions for attachment of a Backstay, and (2) Upper shrouds (rarely used) using Stemball rigging fittings. 	NG1 Fractional Masthead Body: NG1-1FB: The NG1-1FB Fractional Masthead Body is a single casting welded into the Mast Section. The main frame for the *NG1-1FAC* Fractional Masthead Assembly, the NG1 Fractional Masthead Body is (maximum) 5 1/16" (130mm) wide x 10" (255mm) long (on top). NG1 Fractional Masthead Cover Plate: NG1-1F: Cast aluminum Masthead Cover Plate for NG1 Fractional Rig Masthead. Masthead Cover Plate also serves as Sheave separator, provides level surface for mounting Anchor light, and has slots for exiting other electrical wires. Standard Cover Plate is 2 11/16" (maximum) wide x 6 1/4" long (on top) and is fastened with one (1) 6mm screw going through the front of the mast. Note: Some NG1 Fractional Rig Mastheads use other (non-compatible) Cover Plates, See: NG1 Fractional Masthead Assembly.
NG1 Masthead Sheave, 60mm: NG1-4: Factory standard Acetyl Sheave is 60mm (2 5/16") OD x 14mm (9/16") wide x 10mm (3/8") ID.
	NG1 Masthead Sheave, 60mm Aluminum: NG1-4A: Anodized Aluminum Sheave is 60mm (2 5/16") OD x 14mm (9/16") wide x 10mm (3/8") ID, and is much sturdier than the plastic version.
NG1 Masthead Sheave Axle: NG1-6: SS 'Drop-in' Sheave Axle pin is 10mm (3/8") diameter x 40.8mm (<1 5/8") long. Used for all Sheaves in all NG1 Mastheads.

FM-101 Mast - Tangs A wide variety of Tangs are used on the FM-101 Mast Section, but most commonly used are Stemball Backing Shell Tangs. See also, other Tangs.

FM-101 Mast - Jib Boxes & Forestay Attachments Several other varieties of Jib Boxes and Forestay Attachments are used on the FM-101 Mast Section, See Isomat Jib Boxes and Forestay/Staysail Tangs.
*WE Jib Box Ass'y w/ Stemball Socket: FM0-30A:* Cast aluminum two (2) halyard internal Jib Box Assembly with Stemball Socket for Fractionally rigged Masts. Accommodates two (2) Jib halyards up to 5/16" (8mm) diameter, and features a 20mm Stemball Socket for Forestay attachment. Assembly uses (2) 40mm (1 9/16") Delrin Sheaves, FM0-3, for Jib halyards on an 8mm Axle, FM0-6L. Assembly fits in mast cutout 3" (76mm) high x 1 1/2" (37mm) wide. Assembly is designed to fit through the mounting slot and is then pulled down, a screw or rivet is then installed above the casting to keep it locked in place. Unit measures (maximum) 3 7/8" long x 1 11/16" wide and projects 1 1/4" (maximum) inside of mast. Commonly used with FM-35 thru FM-101 Mast Sections.

	FM0 Jib Box Sheave Axle: FM0-6L: SS 'Drop-in' Sheave Axle pin is 8mm (5/16") dia. x 31mm (1 1/4") long. Used for Sheave Axle in FM0-30A Jib Box.

*NG1 Jib Box Ass'y w/ Toggle - 8mm Pin: NG1-30A:* *NG1 Jib Box Ass'y w/ Toggle - 10mm Pin: NG1-31A:* *NG1 Jib Box Ass'y w/ Toggle - 12mm Pin: NG1-32A:* Cast aluminum two (2) halyard internal Jib Box Assembly with Forestay Toggle for Fractionally rigged Masts. Accommodates a single Jib halyard below the Toggle and a Spinnaker halyard over the Toggle. Toggle is shielded by contoured nose to minimize chafe on Spinnaker halyard. Assembly uses (2) 60mm (2 5/16") Acetyl Sheaves (NG1-4), on (2) 10mm Axles, (NG1-6S). Sheaves are suitable for use with wire or rope halyards up to 7/16" diameter. Assembly fits in mast cutout 5 5/8" (143mm) high x 1 3/16" (30mm) wide. Internal mounting flange is slightly curved to fit a variety of mast sections. Assembly is designed to fit through the mounting slot and is then fastened from the outside with (1) 6mm machine screw which threads into locknut held in casting (machine screw and locknut included). 	NG1 Double Jib Box Sheave Washer: NG1-4NSW: Special Teflon Sheave Washer is 60mm (2 5/16") OD x 10mm (3/8") ID. Used on each side of SS Narrow Jib sheaves in NG1 Cast Double Jib Box Assembly.
	NG1 Double Jib Box Sheave Separator: NG1-30DS: Stainless Steel Sheave Separator for use in NG1 Cast Double Jib Box Assembly. SS Plate locks into integral notches in casting between the 2 Jib (lower) sheaves and has a 10mm (3/8") hole for the sheave axle.

FM-101 Mast - Spreaders The FM-101 Mast Section is commonly (but not always) used with BF-2 Spreaders or BF-3 Spreaders. Standard Spreader Bases are listed below, for Spreaders, Spreader Parts, and other Spreader Bases, See Sparcraft Spreaders & Components.

FM-101 Mast - Spreader Bases The FM-101 Mast Section is commonly used with cast Spreader Bases, below. Other Spreader Bars and Bases have been used, See BF-2 Spreaders, and BF-3 Spreaders. Early FM-101 Masts used Francespar Spreaders and stamped SS Spreader Bases that are no longer available.
Spreader Base Clevis Pin: BF2-30: Attaches BF2 Spreader to standard Cast Aluminum Base. SS Clevis Pin is 8mm diameter x 22mm (7/8") long.
BF-2 Cast Spreader Base - Port: BF2-35P: BF-2 Cast Spreader Base - Starboard: BF2-35S: Unique spreader base design incorporates socket for use with stemballs on lower shrouds. Cast aluminum base fits into a 18mm (11/16") high x 53mm (2 1/8") wide slot in the mast and is locked in place with (1) 3/16" rivet. Base accommodates a variety of spreader angles depending on how the inboard spreader end is cut. BF-2 Spreader is attached with (1) 8mm clevis pin. Base (visible when installed) measures 1 9/16" high x 3" long, and projects 2 7/8" out from the Mast. Commonly used with FM-35 thru FM-101 Mast Sections.

*Spreader Base for BF-3 Spreader - Port: BF3-35P:* *Spreader Base for BF-3 Spreader - Star.: BF3-35S:* Unique spreader base design incorporates (2) sockets for use with NG1 stemballs on lower and intermediate shrouds. Cast aluminum bases are welded to the mast and accommodate a variety of spreader angles depending on how the inboard spreader end is cut. BF3 Spreader is attached with (1) 8mm clevis pin which goes through a plastic bushing to allow for some shock loading. New Bases have hole for 12mm (7/16") OD Spreader Bushing, BF3-31. Base measures 4 1/2" high x (maximum) 3 1/2" long, and projects 3 3/4" out from the Mast. For use with NG-28, NG-31, FM-101, and other Mast Sections.
Spreader Base Clevis Pin: BF3-30: Attaches BF3 Spreader to standard Cast Aluminum Base. SS Clevis Pin is 8mm diameter x 32mm (1 1/4") long.
Spreader Base Bushing, 12mm OD: BF3-31: New Style Hard white plastic bushing fits newer Cast aluminum Spreader Bases with a 12mm (7/16") Bushing hole. Bushing is 12mm OD (7/16") x 8mm ID (5/16").

FM-101 Mast - Spreader Bars
*Rectangular Aluminum Spreader Bar for BF-2 Spreader: BF2-40-0:*
Aluminum Spreader Bar for BF2 Spreader is 11 3/4" long x 12mm thick x 20mm wide (1/2" x 13/16"), and incorporates a 5 degree vertical angle for 0 degree (in-line) Spreaders. When ordering please specify Mast Section. Also available with a variety of sweep-back angles on special order.
*SS Spreader Bar for BF-2 Spreader, 30° aft: BF2-41-30:*
Rectangular Stainless Steel Spreader Bar for BF2 Spreaders angled 30 degrees aft is (maximum) 10 5/8" long x 19mm wide x 12.5mm thick incorporates a 5 degree vertical angle.
*SS Doubler Plate for BF-2 Spreader Bar: BF2-40N:* Formed SS Doubler Plate is formed to fit NG-28 Mast Section and reinforces it for use with any BF2 Rectangular Spreader Bar. Unit features boss to allow a straight cut on the spreader end. Plates (2 required) are attached to the mast with (4) 3/16" rivets, and have 12mm x 25mm (1/2" x 1") Slot for BF2-40 Spreader Bars. Plate is (maximum) 2 7/8" (75mm) long x 2" (50mm) high. For use with FM-35 thru FM-101, NG-28 and similar Mast sections.

FM-101 Mast - Spinnaker Cars Spinnaker Cars on the FM-101 Mast Section, normally run of one of several sizes of added T-Track, See Spinnaker Cars for T-Track.
FM1 Spinnaker Pole Mast Eye: FM1-37: Fixed Eye for attachment of whisker or spinnaker pole on the front of the mast. Used where vertical adjustment of inboard pole end is not required, Cast SS Pole eye is curved to fit the front of the Mast. Base is 46mm (1 3/4") high x 47mm (1 7/8") wide, and attaches to Mast with (4) 3/16" (5mm) screws or rivets on 32mm vertical x 35mm centers. 8mm Ring has 40mm (1 1/2") ID. Used with FM-35 through FM-101, and other Mast Sections. Part is marked 33501000114.
NG1 Spinnaker Pole Mast Eye: NG1-37S: Welded Fixed Eye for attachment of whisker or spinnaker pole on the front of the mast. Used where vertical adjustment of inboard pole end is not required. Square SS base is curved to fit the front of the Mast and has welded horizontal Ring. Base is 58mm (2 1/4") square, and attaches to Mast w/ (4) 3/16" (5mm) screws or rivets on 37mm vertical x 27mm centers. 8mm Ring has 33mm (1 5/16") ID. Used FM-101, NG-28 & larger Mast Sections.

FM-101 Mast - Mainsail Gates & Feeders
NG1 Mainsail Gate & Screw Kit: NG1-9K: Cast aluminum Mainsail Gate fits NG-28 through NG-51 Mast Sections. Gate has horizontal slot for Thumbscrew (NGA-10); Gate is 'opened' by loosening Thumbscrew and sliding gate away from Mainsail track. Kit includes Gate casting, NG1-9, and SS Thumbscrew, NGA-10.
	NG1 Mainsail Gate: NG1-9: Cast aluminum Mainsail Gate fits NG-28 through NG-51 Mast Sections. Gate casting is 2 3/8" (60mm) high x 1 7/16" (36mm) wide, with 1/8" (4mm) deep lip. Part is marked 157006.
	NG1 Mainsail Gate Screw: NGA-10: SS Thumbscrew is 4mm diameter with 5/8" (15mm) long thread and has serrated plastic head.
	NG1 Mainsail Gate Screw - Stainless: NGA-10SS: All Stainless Thumbscrew is 4mm diameter with 5/8" (15mm) long thread and knurled head.
FM1 SS Boltrope Feeder: FM1-BRF: SS Boltrope Feeder fits FM-35 through FM-101 Mast Sections. Cast SS Feeder is 3" (78mm) long x (maximum) 1 5/8" (42mm) wide and attaches to mast with (4) 3/16" (5mm) rivets on 28mm x 64mm vertical centers. Unit requires 65mm x 14mm cut-out in the Mast track. Replaces earlier Plastic version and fits in same cut-out. Part is marked 34203000034.

AutoReef Fairlead
*AutoReef Fairlead: NGA-65:* SS AutoReef Fairlead is mounted on either side of mast above gooseneck bracket. Acts as fairlead for reef line and stop for sail when reefed with AutoReef (single line) reefing system. Flattened SS ring is welded to diamond shaped SS plate. Ring is 32mm (1 1/4") OD x 16mm (5/8") ID, plate is 65mm (5/8") high x 40mm (1 5/8") wide and is fastened with four (4) 1/4" (6mm) rivets. For details, See: Isomat AutoReef System.

FM-101 Mast - Gooseneck Brackets & Hardware The FM-101 Mast Section is normally used with NG1 Gooseneck Brackets, for Booms up to FB-125 and NB-26.
NG1 Gooseneck/Vang Bracket: NG1-11: Cast aluminum Gooseneck/Vang Bracket fits NG-28 through NG-51 Mast Sections. Bracket is 3 7/8" (98mm) high x 2 3/4" (70mm) wide, and is fastened with four (4) 1/4" (6mm) rivets. Bracket has holes for 12mm (7/16") Vertical Toggle Pin (*NB1-1*).
NG1 Narrow Gooseneck Bracket: NG1-11N: Cast aluminum Gooseneck/Vang Bracket is used on a variety of smaller FM Mast Sections. It is compatible with all FB and NB Gooseneck Toggles that use a 12mm Pin. Bracket is 3 7/8" (98mm) high x 1 15/16" (49mm) wide, and is fastened with four (4) 1/4" (6mm) rivets. Bracket has 12mm (7/16") holes for use with any of the NB1-1 Vertical Gooseneck Toggle Pins, below. Commonly used with FM-35 thru FM-101 Mast Sections.
	NB1 Gooseneck Pin Ass'y w/ Reef Hooks: NB1-1RA: Stainless Steel Reef Hook/Tack Assembly incorporates 12mm Vertical Gooseneck Bolt with Tack Shackle and dual Reef Hooks. Reef Hooks are formed from 8mm rod, Assembly is (maximum) 3 5/8" wide x 6" high, and includes 5mm SS Tack Shackle. Bolt is 12mm diameter x 3 5/8" long for use with any of the NG1-11 Gooseneck Brackets and a variety of Gooseneck Toggles for a 12mm Pin.
	NB1 Gooseneck Connector Kit: NB1-1K: NB1 Gooseneck Connector Kit for applications not requiring Reef Hooks. Kit has everything necessary to connect Gooseneck Casting to Mast Bracket and includes all 4 of the components below, NB1-1, NB1-2, NB1-3 and NB1-4.
	NB1 Vertical Gooseneck Pin: NB1-1: SS Clevis pin is 12mm (7/16") diameter with a 85mm (3 3/8") grip length, and has 8mm (5/16") hole for Shackle attachment. Fits vertically in any of the NG1-11 Gooseneck/Vang Brackets.
	NB1 Horizontal Gooseneck Cylinder: NB1-3: Plastic Cylinder slides through the Gooseneck Casting and the Gooseneck Toggle. Vertical Gooseneck Pin then slides through Mast Bracket, Gooseneck Toggle, and Horizontal Gooseneck Cylinder, in that order. Black plastic cylinder is 1" diameter x 1 1/2" long with hole for 12mm (7/16") pin.
	NB1 Gooseneck Toggle: NB1-4: Plastic Toggle fits in between the ears in the Gooseneck Casting. Horizontal Gooseneck Cylinder then slides through the Gooseneck Casting and the Gooseneck Toggle. All 3 pieces are held together by the Vertical Gooseneck clevis Pin.
	NB1 Tack Shackle: NB1-2: SS Tack Shackle fits through hole in top of vertical gooseneck clevis pins. Shackle has 5mm (3/16") pin.

FM-101 Mast - Winch Pads
*FM-101 Side Winch Pad - Clear Anodized: NG28-20:* Formed aluminum Bracket fits either side of FM-101 and other Mast Sections. Winch mounting surface on Bracket is 3 9/16" (92mm) high x 3 1/4" (82mm) wide. Anodized Bracket fastens to Mast with eight (8) 3/16" (5mm) rivets.
*FM-101 Aft Winch Pad - Clear Anodized: FM101-21:* Formed aluminum Bracket fits aft side of FM-101 Mast Section. Designed to mount under the Boom for use with a Reef line winch. Winch mounting surface on Bracket is 4" (100mm) square and angles aft approximately 12 degrees to align Winch with Outhaul or Reef lines exiting from Boom. Complete NG1 Vang Bracket Assembly has Toggle with Slot for attachment of Rope (soft) Vang. Assembly consists of Narrow Vang Bracket (NG1-11N), Vang Toggle Pin (NB1-1), and NG1-16 Vang Toggle with 3/8" x 7/8" (10mm x 22mm) Slot. Assembly is fastened to Mast with four (4) 1/4" (6mm) rivets or screws. Toggle can be replaced for later conversion to a Hard (solid) Vang.
	NG1 SS Vang Toggle w/ Slot: NG1-16: SS Welded Vang Toggle with Slot for attachment of Block or Shackle fits *NG1-11* Vang Bracket. SS tube is 1 15/16" (50mm) long and is drilled for 12mm Vertical Pin, *NB1-1.* Welded SS Tab has Slot (3/8" x 7/8") suitable for attachment of most any shackle. Heavy-duty Tab is 7mm (.280") thick and projects 2" (50mm) out from tube.

Complete NG1 Vang Bracket Assembly has Toggle with 14mm (9/16") hole for attachment of Vang and 8mm (5/16") hole for attachment of Vang Tackle. 	SS Welded Vang Toggle Fits NG1-11 Vang Bracket. SS tube is 1 15/16" (50mm) long and is drilled for 12mm Vertical Pin. Welded SS Tab is 5mm (3/16") thick and projects 2 3/8" (60mm) out from tube. Tab has 14mm (9/16") hole for attachment of Vang and 8mm (5/16") hole for attachment of Vang Tackle. As used with Sparcraft Pneuvang and others.

FM-101 Hinged Mast Step Ass'y w/ Sheaves: FM1-2A: Aluminum Hinged Mast Step Assembly for use with FM-67, FM-101 and NG-28 Mast Sections incorporates (12) Sheaves, FM1-2S, to allow for leading up to six (6) lines straight out or aft, at Deck level. Upper portion attaches to the Mast using (4) 3/16" (6mm) rivets, and has (2) 6mm holes to allow for Vang attachment. Upper and Base Plate hinge on 8mm (5/16") Pin. Base Plate attaches to Deck with (4) 6mm (1/4") FH screws. Unit places Mast tube at 37mm above Deck.
	FM-101 Hinged Mast Step Sheave: FM1-2S: Replacement Sheave for FM1-2A Hinged Mast Step Assembly. Black plastic Sheave is 30mm (1 1/8") OD x 10mm (3/8") wide x 8mm (5/16") ID. SM30R10-8 FM1-2S
	FM-101 Hinged Mast Step, Sheave Axle: FM1-2SA: Replacement Sheave Axle for FM1-2A Hinged Mast Step Assembly. Solid SS Sheave Axle is 8mm x 138mm long (5/16" x 5 7/16").
	FM-101 Hinged Step, Sheave Cover: FM1-2CP: Replacement Sheave Cover Plate only as used in FM1-2A Hinged Mast Step Assembly, above. Black anodized Plate is 138mm (5 7/16") long x 104mm (4 1/8") wide x 3mm thick with holes for vertical and horizontal sheave axles.
	FM-101 Hinged Mast Step, Insert Casting: FM1-2B: Replacement Upper Casting only as used in FM1-2A Hinged Mast Step Assembly, above. Black anodized Casting is 180mm (7") long x 100mm (4") wide and incorporates (6) 8mm vertical sheave axles.
	FM-101 Hinged Mast Step, Base Plate: FM1-2D: Base Plate only, used in Hinged Mast Step Assembly, FM1-2A, above, has ears on aft side with 8mm (5/16") hole for hinge Pin. Cast Aluminum Base Plate is 6 1/4" (150mm) long x 2 3/4" (70mm) wide and attaches to Deck with (4) 1/4" (6mm) FH screws on 4 1/4" (108mm) (fore & aft) x 1 13/16" (46mm) (athwartships) centers.

FM-101 Mast Step - Deck Mount: FM135-4: Cast Aluminum Mast Step for use with FM-101, FM135 and other Mast Sections. Mast Step has provisions for (10) 12mm Mast Step Block Pins, NG2-21, and a SS Bail, NG2-20, for attachment of a soft Boom Vang. Block Pins and Bail are installed from underside of Mast Step Casting, Mast Step must be removed to install Block Pins or Bail. Cast Mast Step is 9 3/8" (240mm) long x (maximum) 7 1/8" (180mm) wide, and fastens to deck with (4) 8mm (5/16") FH Screws. Unit places Mast at 13mm above Deck.
	NG2 Mast Step Block Pin - 12mm Small: NG2-21: Special 12mm SS Block Pin is used for attachment of shackle or block to lead halyards aft. Fits in integral recessed 12mm hole in a variety of FM and NG Mast Steps and Deck Collars. Block Pin is installed from underside of Mast Step Casting, Mast Step must be removed to install Block Pins. Small head Block Pin is 12mm (<1/2") diameter x 45mm (1 3/4") long (maximum), with a 30mm (1 3/16") grip length and a 1/4" (6mm) hole for shackle pin or Block bolt. F305/385,460/560E
	NG2 Mast Step Bail: NG2-20: SS Formed Bail is used for attachment of Boom Vang, and fits in integral slot in aft side of Mast Steps. Bail is installed from underside of Mast Step Casting; Mast Step must be removed to install Bail. Bail is made from 10mm (3/8") rod, and is 2 3/4" (70mm) long x (maximum) 1 15/16" (50mm) high.

FM-101 Internal Waterproofing Plug: FM101-WP: Internal Waterproofing Plug is installed in Keel-stepped Masts to prevent water intrusion below deck. Assembly consists of 2 plastic pieces carefully cut to fit Mast interior with central PVC standpipe to allow passage of electrical wires. Unit slides up from the bottom of the Mast to a point just above Deck level where a hole is drilled in Mast to allow for application of expanding foam between plastic pieces. Second hole is drilled just above upper plastic piece to allow water drainage.
	Internal Waterproofing Foam: NGA-Foam: Expanding foam is used for installation of Internal Waterproofing Plug. Single-use can is sufficient for installation of any Internal Waterproofing Plug.
